In an effort to give back, Tamika created the non-profit, Make A Film Foundation (MAFF) which grants film wishes to children with serious or life-threatening medical conditions by teaming them with noted writers, directors & producers who help them to create short film legacies. She has produced 4 Award winning narrative shorts and over 100 short docs via MAFF.

Our featured guest Cassie Betts founded a fashion-tech company called District2.co in 2013. District2 helped to connect fashion designers with local apparel manufacturers. Cassie is the host of a live radio show turned podcast called talktechto.me  that airs every Saturday 12pm Pacific on KBLA Talk 1580. Forbes dubbed her “The Woman Turning South LA into Startup Land”.  She is the catalyst and visionary behind South LA’s first Best Buy Teen Tech Center. She is the Founder and CEO of Made In South LA- MISLA. 
MISLA is part Digital Learning Academy and part software development agency, under the District2.co umbrella that trains and hires youth + adults in high-paying skill sets such as software engineering, web design, content creation, and digital marketing. 
Cassie is also Chief Innovation Officer of CEDC/ IMHP, working on almost a dozen more tech centers that will bring economic growth and workforce development to disinvested communities throughout the world with focus on economic/ workforce development and smart city infrastructures.

The Flora May Foundation focuses on an overlooked population: supporting parents of at-risk adolescents. Our mission was clear from the outset: provide parents with the resources, support, and community they need. We faced many challenges, from securing funding to building a network of partners.
